Have a Grand Adventure for Your Stag Do

Before tying the knot, it is important for stags to be able to really enjoy their last moments of freedom. To make that happen… how about having a grand adventure that you and your companions will never forget? Try jumping on the coasteering bandwagon if other extreme sports or outdoor recreational activities do not seem to be as thrilling as they used to be.

Every man’s stag do should be well worth remembering his whole life and that is why a lot of best men tend to make it the most humiliating experience the stag would ever experience. Though that is the trend nowadays, it is important to remember that it should be fun. More importantly, it should be fun for the stag.

What Is Coasteering?

If you are looking for an adventure of a lifetime, try coasteering. In 1973, some people thought that it will be the next best thing and that it has a big future. Now, that is probably coming true. Coasteering became popular in Pembrokeshire, Wales during the 1990s. That spread to Cornwall, Anglesey, Dorset, the Isles and Highlands of Scotland as well. Those places can be the perfect location for your stag weekend or stag party if you wish to try coasteering.

Why is this outdoor recreational activity limited to certain places? That is mainly because it does need access to a cut-off cove and a body of water. This physical activity involves swimming, climbing, jumping or diving.

What You Need to Know

So, for your stag do, try coasteering. It can be the perfect daytime stag do activity for you. Though it may impose a certain level of challenge, danger, or risk, it is relatively safe with the right equipment and qualified guide.

Before going on an adventure, it helps to know what you need. It always helps to be prepared and know what you will be facing should anything go wrong.

Safety equipment:

  1. Wetsuit
  2. Gloves
  3. Buoyancy aid
  4. Helmet

Hazards involved:

  1. Hypothermia
  2. Drowning
  3. Impact with rocks

A few days ago, a stag party member did get injured as the party of 14 went coasteering in Newquay. A helicopter was needed to transport the injured stag party member to the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

The accident occurred because he changed his mind at the last minute and twisted around after he jumped. The group had all the safety gear needed and the appropriate number of guides, but such a thing still cannot be avoided 100%.

Go for It!

If you really want it, you should go for it. Your stag night or stag weekend should always be about what you want and how you want to spend your last moments of freedom. So, if you think such an adventure is what you really want… go for it!

There are a lot of other stag do activities with an element of danger involved, but stags enjoy them nonetheless. Also, to be fair, adventurous hens that love such outdoor adventures might also want to go coasteering for their hen do.

No one can ever bring back those last moments of precious freedom. So, make sure to have the stag do that you have always wanted and have a blast!
