The 3 Types of Stag Parties

Friday night is boys’ night out. It may be a weekly occurrence for some blokes but getting married certainly isn’t. No groom can escape without a Stag celebration, whether it’s a single night or a weekend. Few would want to escape even if they could and there are plenty of ideas for something a little bit different.

There are also companies that specialise in providing and organising those ideas in a large range of different locations. A groom has enough to do without organising the event so, usually, the best man may take on the task of the stag event unless he is still wrestling with his speech! However, it is far better to leave the task of organising the event to a company that does stag parties professionally.

The Stag Night Out

There is unlikely to be anything routine about what is on offer on a typical stag night out. Usually, the boys out on the stag night will give the groom a surprise sometime during the night. There have been plenty of occasions when a groom has woken up miles from home, even on his wedding day.

Whilst I’m not advocating that you do something like that, I am suggesting that you have as much fun as possible on your stag night out! It’s been proven time and time again that a night out with the boys is a tried and tested method of having a great stag do.

You can even choose to go to another location and set off for a city in a foreign country! Just make sure you the stag doesn’t pay for any of the drinks and that he has a sore head in the morning!

The Activity Laden Stag Do

A night out with the boys is one way to let off steam but activities provided by a specialist have become increasingly popular as well. Some think that paintballing is the best option and some opt for go karting and rafting. Whichever you choose, make sure there is plenty of time between the stag activity and the wedding day, just in case the paintballs leave unwanted bruises! However, there is no outdoor activity that is not supervised by trained people so you’ll be in safe hands.

Daytime activities are a great way for the stag and his mates to have fun and is an ideal preparation for the nighttime activities! Make sure you take plenty of photos when your on your activity laden stag do, so you can brag to your friends back home about how many go kart races you won or how many of your mates you shot with your paintballs!

The Sophisticated Option

Most cities have exclusive restaurants that can host special occasions such as wedding anniversaries and birthdays. They will be only too happy to help friends on a Stag Night with a meal, fine wine and expensive champagne. It may be as a prelude to visiting a club but for some people, they don’t want a night out on the town and would rather have a sophisticated meal with friends in a great location.

Some stag nights even have gold medal winners, provided by Classique’s Speakers that speak about their achievements and are great to listen to after the sit down dinner. This is a great option for more mature stag parties where being around great friends and great entertainment is the ideal stag party.

Daring or Crazy: Stag Party Climbs Snowdon in PJs

Stags do crazy and daring things during their stag do. That is a fact. However, for one stag do group, their crazy or daring stunt turned into a nightmare as they climbed the Snowdon with a thunderstorm looming on the horizon.

Snowdon, a mountain whose name is derived from Old English for “snow hill,” is the highest mountain in Wales. Beautiful with diverse flora and fauna, Snowdon is considered the busiest mountain in the UK as a lot of people head to Snowdonia National Park for relaxation and recreation. Situated between the county of Gwynedd and the county of Conwy, this mountain is not just the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon is the highest mountain England. Almost 1,100 meters above sea level, it poses as a challenge to outdoor adventurers and nature lovers.

Crazy, Daring, or Both

Though it is not out of the ordinary for people to climb this mountain, it is indeed remarkably daring to climb any mountain during a thunderstorm. Furthermore, it is crazy to climb the Snowdon clad in pajamas, trainers, and without any other gear during a thunderstorm.

In the midst of lightning, thunder, strong winds, and heavy downpour, the group of four managed to get 400 meters up the mountain. As they did, the force of the wind and the heavy rain tried to convince them to stop. Not heeding those warning signs and having only a bottle of water between them, the group continued on their hike to the summit.

Fortunately, the stag do group made it to the summit wet, but unharmed. They even managed to get back to their homes without needing any assistance from the mountain rescue team. Was that crazy or daring? Most people would say both.

Snowdonia National Park

Due to the natural beauty and wildlife found on the Snowdon, the entire area was made a national park in 1951. This was the third national park in Britain and that made the entire area a Special Area of Conservation. That’s a good thing because that makes sure its beauty and wildlife are conserved. However, since 69.9% of the land is privately owned, it is interesting to note that there are actually 26,000 people living within Snowdonia National Park.

Hikers tend to concentrate on Snowdon and do not really explore the surrounding areas. It is a good thing that there are various trails to choose from which benefit hikers that do not really want to climb with a mob. With the Snowdon Mountain Railway running up to its summit, Snowdon can get really crowded which is why it was tagged as the busiest mountain in Britain.

Stag Dos Should Be Unforgettable

Your stag do should always be unforgettable, any stag night or stag weekend should, because your last days of freedom should be unforgettable. Though they are not model citizens and what they did should not be imitated, you can be sure this group of four got the thrill, challenge, and adventure that they sought for and then some. Given those weather conditions and the circumstances, that climb was definitely a climb to remember.

Your own stag party does not really have to be as dangerous as that stunt. It can be more laid back or fun. What matters is that your stag do should include an activity or activities that will really be treasured by you. In this case, the groom-to-be climbed the same mountain last year and thought climbing it again with his best buds will make his stag do unforgettable. He did get his wish.

Stag Do Bus Crash Scam Uncovered by the Insurer

A group of thirteen men were involved in a stag do insurance scam in Newcastle back in 2009. Once the scam was uncovered, all of the admitted fraud and said that they “bitterly regretted” the scam.

Last month, a mini bus did crash as a hen group was on their way to a Liverpool hen party. That crash left eleven hens seriously injured and claimed one life. That’s why a scam such as this really is a bad joke.

How It Was Staged

The thirteen men setup the whole crash scene between a car and a mini bus. When the paramedics got to the scene, everyone was alright. In fact, the “stag group” was found laughing, talking on their cellular phones, and smoking. They claimed that they were driving to a stag do when they crashed with the car.

After a few minutes, it was like domino effect after one of them started holding his neck and said he suffered an injury because of the crash. The rest of them followed suit and said they had whiplash injuries.

All of them were brought to the hospital where they were examined. X-rays were taken and some of them left with neck braces. However, after a few hours, they all had a rather dramatic recovery and were all fine after that.

Uncovering the Scam

The group walked away with £134,000 in their pockets from the insurance company. It wasn’t until recently that their scam was uncovered. The insurer, Aviva, made an investigation and alerted the police as soon as they discovered that the couple in the car, Ben LeBlond and Marnie Simpson, which crashed into the mini bus knew everyone in the “stag group.”

It turns out that both vehicles were already damaged before they were brought to the crash scene. The whole group just set it up as if they crashed into each other then and there.

Two members of the “stag group” pleaded guilty to fraud. LeBlond pleaded guilty as well. The three of them are still waiting for their sentence.
