Getting to Carlingford

Getting by Public Transport
If you decide to visit the town by public transport, there are train services to the towns of Dundalk and Newry. Also, there are bus services running from towns to Omeath, Carlingford, Ravensdale the Cooley Peninsula.
Bus Eireann provided two local bus services to this town.
In terms of train services, there are Newry Train Services to and from Belfast. There’s also Dundalk Train Services to and from Dublin.
Coming from Dublin
Getting to this town from Dublin is easy and can only take roughly an hour through the M1 Motorway.
Travel on M1 to the end then take exit off at Junction 18- signposted (R152) N52 Dundalk North Carlingford. Take 4th exit off and take 2nd exit off signposted Carlingford. Afterwhich, follow signs to Carlingford.
Getting to Carlingford from Belfast
If you’re heading south out of Belfast, then you can also take the M1 towards Dublin. Take the A1 exit toward Sprucefield & at Sprucefield Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A1.
Get the B113 exit towards Newry, then follow the signs for the The Quays Shopping Centre. Turn left at the traffic lights taking you along the side of Newry canal, it’s on your left, and the shopping centre is on your right. From here it’s 11miles to Carlingford.
