If you choose the bus, there are a multitude of quality bus services to/from Dublin. These include Bus Éireann which leaves from Ceannt Station (also the railway station) just off Eyre Square.

Citylink and GoBus offer regular, express coach services between Galway and Dublin and Dublin Airport.

From Dublin Airport to Galway City Centre, buses run every half hour almost all day. The journey lasts 2.5 – 3 hours.

From Shannon Airport or Knock Airport to Galway, the bus ride lasts 1.5 hours.

And, from Cork Airport to Galway, the bus journey lasts 305 hours.

 

Take the train from the Airport

Irish Rail runs regular daily train services to Dublin stopping off at major towns such as Ballinasloe, Athlone, Tullamore, Kildare and Heuston Station in Dublin.

There’s no direct train from Shannon or Cork airports to Galway, so you should get the bus instead.

 

Take a Boat from the Airport

If you hate flying, your best option is to travel by boat. Irish Ferries or Stena Line have regular sailings from the UK and from France to Ireland.
